When James (our firstborn) was just 14 months old we went to work on Murray Island in the Torres Strait (Queensland). We lived in a tiny house (6m x 8m) and there were many things that we didn’t have – such as running water, and electricity.

But there were some things that were very special. Like stories and books. We had five hurricane lanterns, and putting them all together around the book gave us enough light to enjoy a story together.
