I don’t know – is that something you would want to be putting so close to your nose, knowing where it has actually been?
It is actually paper that is really made out of elephant dung, and we saw the process so we know that it’s true. It didn’t start off quite that colour, and the smell is gone as well as a certain amount of the substance.
There was a time when we judged paper quality on its smoothness and ease of use. This is none of that; it is coarse, and thick, and hard to write on with a fine pen. So what is it used for?
Well, that is simple. It is used to prove that the people who keep the elephants are environmentally aware, not in the least bit cruel or uncaring or even interested in them for their commercial value.
