What is there to see in Goreme? For one thing there are lots of “Fairy Chimneys” – these strangely-eroded stone towers.  Sometimes you can wander through “Love Valley” because there are so many of these seemingly erotic-shaped rocks.

Lots of people live in cave houses – we stayed in a hotel where the rooms were in caves. A lot of the rocky towers are inhabited by pigeons – as here in Pigeon Valley. The pigeons are valued mostly for their guano.

This strange-looking tree is sporting a lot of those funny little pendants people use to protect themselves and their homes against the “Evil Eye”.
